Specialist JOEY GRAVES

Post 3199 dedicates this page to U.S. Army Veteran,
Specialist Joey Graves of Discovery Bay, California.

Spc. Joseph A. Graves, 21, was in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom when his convoy was ambushed in Baghdad,
July 2006.  He graduated from Liberty High School and
joined the Army.  He was assigned to the 110th Military
Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th
Military Police Brigade, based at Fort Hood, Texas. He
served a yearlong tour in Korea before going to Iraq in
November, 2005.

Joey planned on going into law enforcement and eventually
wanted to become an FBI agent.  His father Kevin Graves,
of Discovery Bay said,
"He had very specific goals; Joe had a plan.  He brought the
recruiter to both his mom's and my house to explain it to
us.  He had everything mapped out, he knew what he
wanted to do with his life and never stepped off that path."
"He was proud to be serving in Iraq."

Joseph Graves is survived by his father Kevin, mother
Maryan,  grandparents, and wife Cori.
