Specialist JOEY GRAVES Post 3199 dedicates this page to U.S. Army Veteran, Specialist Joey Graves of Discovery Bay, California. Spc. Joseph A. Graves, 21, was in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom when his convoy was ambushed in Baghdad, July 2006. He graduated from Liberty High School and joined the Army. He was assigned to the 110th Military Police Company, 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, based at Fort Hood, Texas. He served a yearlong tour in Korea before going to Iraq in November, 2005. Joey planned on going into law enforcement and eventually wanted to become an FBI agent. His father Kevin Graves, of Discovery Bay said, "He had very specific goals; Joe had a plan. He brought the recruiter to both his mom's and my house to explain it to us. He had everything mapped out, he knew what he wanted to do with his life and never stepped off that path." "He was proud to be serving in Iraq."
